I went to the fab Mind the Scrap anniversary crop in Bristol over the summer which was the most fun! I didn’t stay into the night but met some really lovely ladies (including one who covered my page in bright pink Color Shine Spray, luckily it was salvageable by removing the photo and adding some more to make it look intentional.) I managed to get about 1 layout per hour done – so I did 6 in total. I really like cropping with other people, I’m neither shy or outgoing and do get a bit nervous meeting new people but the scrapbooking community are really friendly and good fun.
My first layout was based on a Shimelle Sketch from one of her classes (I think design decisions but can’t remember for sure!) including some pieces from the Little by little collection.
Next I did a double page (the other side was a pocket page) with most of the photos of our anniversary weekend to Cambridge.
I made a page for the August UK Scrap Addicts competition which was based on clustering that month – They do fun challenges each month which I like to join in on!
Next I was trying something a bit different to add movement. I really love that blue floral vellum. I think I mostly did one page layouts as I think they come together a bit quicker. I usually make some page kits to take with me which also makes it a bit easier, trying to include ephemera that I want to use up.
This was the page that got covered in pink ink, wasn’t too much of a stretch to make this page more pink. Having a little boy I do tend to steer away from pink, but it was nice to use for a page about our new kitten Artemis. I liked the background paper as it reminded me of the texture of her fur and I had to use that cute cat paper!
Finally this more bold page (based on another Shimelle design layout i loved) of us going to the Science Museum. I loved the copper vellum from Shimelle’s go now go collection. I borrowed my neighbours’ Tim Holtz tiny attacher and needless to say it’s going on the christmas list!
Thanks for reading!
