Be a rainbow

Hi There,

I was feeling colourful and happy this week. Both my son and I share a birthday week. So we have a LOT of cake and adventures together. He is off to school this year so we are making the most of the last few months of just us! I made this layout for the Love challenge on the Gogogetaway facebook page.

I first made the background using a heart stencil and embellishment mousse and used the wrapper technique using different colours of distress ink. I used my silhouette to make the title elements and clouds. I got the large elements from a Flying tiger shop and just very simply layered my photo with primary colours.

I added a scattering of sequins, nuvo dots and vellum stickers to give it more colour and dimension, and finally I used some glitter glue to colour in the clouds.

I just wanted to make a fun layout with a cute photo. I hope you like it too 🙂

Stick it down – Guest Design for Double Page

I’m Kaylie and I live in the UK with my husband, almost 4 year old and 2 crazy cats. I started scrapbooking around 2 years ago when I discovered Shimelle Laine on YouTube (I was actually searching for card making tutorials) and have loved it ever since.

I was happy to compete in the December double page challenge and won and I got to be the guest designer for February. I do a mix of single, single with pocket pages, double pages and 8.5×11. Whatever I fancy and fits the story/photos I have.

This is the sketch I had to play with. It has space for a lot of photos in different sizes and I instantly thought this is a good page to use up my scraps. I still have plenty of photos from our Disney Trip in 2017 and have been mostly using Say Cheese III for my pages. This month they have a collaboration with Scrap the Boys Blog and provided a prompt too.

This is my layout. I kept quite hones to the sketch as I liked it – The major difference is the layout of the photos. These are all photos from Hollywood Studios in Florida.

I firstly used my silhouette to cut out some squares of the background to create some dimension and cut out the ‘memories’ title. I also used my Sketch Pen to help guide out 4 squares for water colouring in red, black, yellow and blue.

I tried to keep blue and found this explore globe sticker from the last few bits from Starshine I have to link into Scrap the Boys. I mean Disney couldn’t be more about Exploring, Discovering and of course Dreaming!

The Clusters I kept pretty simple with a banner, a little word sticker – some had these acetate globe with a puffy heart and enamel star.

The ‘Memories’ title I covered in embossing powder in silver and then a holo glitter to make it all sparkly. Then I added glitter thickers to complete the title.

Thanks for reading and have fun completing the challenges this month 🙂
