We had a bit of a laugh with my husband looking through my supplies and thinking of a page to design himself. He had free reign over all my supplies and made that wavy pattern by drawing around washi tape and cutting it out.
He said he had fun and understands why it takes so long to make a page now, but wouldn’t be repeating the process. I love that I have this in my album, as it says more than just a photo of my little man swimming. It’s about my husband appreciating the time that I take making these ‘pretty photo albums’ and he loves the final result.

Hi there. I’m a relatively new scrapbooker. I’m not actually sure how I discovered scrapbooking was a ‘thing’ but started off a few years ago making cards and think I looked at a lot of card making tutorials on Youtube. I think one day I was recommended Shimelle and at the same time Home Sense seemed to have a lot of pretty paper pads and embellishments in the sale so I gave it a go.
I’m not sure if I scraplifted the layout off anyone but had very minimal supplies. The craft cardstock was from cardmaking as well as the green banner and the paper and stickers were new. The stamping was due to me seeing people sewing onto layouts but that seemed like, and still does, too much effort for me.
I remember being very proud of my handwritten title using my Steadtler Triplus copying a font off of Google.
I still like the colour combo and the way that it showcases those photos that might not have been seen.
And that was it! I was hooked and have many many more supplies now, many of them bargains as I hadn’t known about the UK online stores and was relying on the high street retailers products that I found quite quickly were not quite my style.
Thanks for reading, Hope you’ve enjoyed seeing my virgin attempts at scrapbooking last October!
