I must admit I usually make single pages – or a single and a pocket page for more photos but recently I’ve been having a but of fun with double pages.
The first is this page from our wedding album of our parent and grandparents wedding days. We actually included these photos at our wedding as was a lovely idea my mum had. It was great to see how the styles of weddings have changed over the years and include our beloved family. I coordinated the two pages with the colours of yellow, gold, pink and navy and added different element to make them both work as individual but complimentary pages. I rarely buy more than one piece of paper which does make these pages have a different look.
Also I took my Lego obsessed boys to an event in Birmingham last weekend. Needless to say they had a great time, there was even huge Lego pits of different colours to jump into and build, a Lego safari which took a lot of bricks and hours to make. Lego is a big thing in our house anyway, as I’m sure it is for many of you. I ended up using a lot of the Shimelle papers from Starshine, True Stories and Little By Little. I made huge cut file saying Lego and coloured it using distress inks, again the two backgrounds are different but I made them coordinate as well as I could bringing in other colours and papers to help them blend.
I’ve added a couple of close ups of the two layouts below. Thanks for reading!
Supplies: Shimelle Paper Pads from different Lines, Silhouette Cameo
Hello, I’m loving the new UK Scrap Addicts blog and they have a Facebook page. This month they have 2 mood boards to use as an inspiration this month and I chose the cut rainbow theme and loved the watercolour zebra.
I’ve seen Amy Tangerine doing the watercolour and straw technique and wanted to add it to my page – if you haven’t seen it its basically watercolour blob, get a straw and blow the paint in all directions. It’s so fun and easy!
So I created a rainbow background with that technique and added rainbow glitter to look like it was escaping under the photo – i used a 3×3 black and white photo to contrast with all the colour in the background
The hello script lettering made me use the cherish thicker with added sparkly for fun and layered the photo with some small pieces from my scrap basket. I put the photo up on foam pads to create dimension and added a wood veneer for the date.
Finally I pulled up the bottom corner for a space for journalling and added a piece of paper from Shimelle’s Little by Little,
Thanks for Reading 🙂
My little baby boy (who is 3) has just started preschool today, I just can’t believe how quickly the time has flown. This time next year he will start school, I never quite believed it when people said cherish the time, it goes so fast. At the time I had a grumpy baby who wasn’t sleeping, or a toddler kicking off because I wouldn’t put quinoa in my trolley (true story) but I do feel like I have cherished his early years.
I was lucky enough to have a cropping weekend away to get some layouts done which I had done a bit of prepping beforehand including cutting out this free file from Paper Issues.
If you haven’t checked it out their website it is really fab and have a large collection of free files as well as awesome layout ideas and shop.
I had recently purchased the little by little 6×6 paper pad from my local hobby craft after saying that i really wasn’t too keen on the critters and thought it was a little too feminine for me, it didn’t last long as I have the sticker sheets,m buttons and one of each of the 12×12 paper sheets now!
I didn’t want to add a title to this one as it was already quite busy with all the different papers in the background and I kept the embellishments quite simple too!
Thanks for reading, I hope you go and have a look at the paper issues website and have a go making a layout with this cut file!
