Last week I entered this layout into the FTLOPP scrapbooking group where they have weekly alphabet challenges and a monthly challenge. This month it was sketches and they had 6 to choose from. I went with this one below
I tend to keep quite accurate to a sketch as when I use them I’m trying to make pages quickly and it helps my process. Below is my take on this sketch. It’s quite true except I staggered the lines in the background using up paper from the Shimelle Starshine collection here as I have lots to use still.
I gave the background layer a bit of texture by sewing up and sides of each strip, inking the edges and giving them a little bit of a tear. This layout was meant to be pretty silly with it just being some fun snap chat photos as my son is obsessed with playing with it at the minute, especially the dog one.
All the enbellishments were from the Starshine collection and I was trying to use up a couple of letter stickers before throwing away the rest and added a few silvery enamel dots and x’s
I really enjoyed joining in the on this challenge and this a little time to get involved if you wanted to as well,
Thanks for reading
My little baby boy (who is 3) has just started preschool today, I just can’t believe how quickly the time has flown. This time next year he will start school, I never quite believed it when people said cherish the time, it goes so fast. At the time I had a grumpy baby who wasn’t sleeping, or a toddler kicking off because I wouldn’t put quinoa in my trolley (true story) but I do feel like I have cherished his early years.
I was lucky enough to have a cropping weekend away to get some layouts done which I had done a bit of prepping beforehand including cutting out this free file from Paper Issues.
If you haven’t checked it out their website it is really fab and have a large collection of free files as well as awesome layout ideas and shop.
I had recently purchased the little by little 6×6 paper pad from my local hobby craft after saying that i really wasn’t too keen on the critters and thought it was a little too feminine for me, it didn’t last long as I have the sticker sheets,m buttons and one of each of the 12×12 paper sheets now!
I didn’t want to add a title to this one as it was already quite busy with all the different papers in the background and I kept the embellishments quite simple too!
Thanks for reading, I hope you go and have a look at the paper issues website and have a go making a layout with this cut file!
Hi There, I’ve not done much scrapbooking over the last few months – I got a new job and was trying to balance the new routine, I have been told by doctor to lose weight so my evenings have been popping to the gym when the little one goes to bed. I have to admit, I’m not doing great! I’m quite a stubborn person and need to make my own decisions even if it is for me own good! I also went on a family trip to Disney World which was brilliant, my little boy loved it, especially meeting Ariel and the water parks. It will never be warm enough in the UK for a waterpark!
I’ve been inspired this month to play along with the photo challenges set by Shimelle this month. Day 1 is to take a photo of my favourite layout.
This is one of my favorites because it has my son’s artwork in it. Clearly it’s not super great, he is only 3 but I love seeing the evolution of his artwork, like most mummas. He really loves painting but I can for the life of me get him to colour in or draw! He just likes getting messy too much. I try and fit in one arty project in a week- though as the weather gets nicer, it gets harder to avoid the sunshine!
Otherwise this is a pretty simple layout. 2 3×4 pictures from different ages, some journalling cards and the background is that lovely Starshine paper with the big moon – which I love but really couldn’t make it work for a background for my pictures!
The little enamel dots are from poundland and reminded me of the seaside and the picture behind. The letter stickers were also a bargain buy in B&M which I have never been in before to find these and some Shimelle knock offs!
Thanks for reading – Hopefully I’ll be back sooner rather than later with updates 🙂
We had a bit of a laugh with my husband looking through my supplies and thinking of a page to design himself. He had free reign over all my supplies and made that wavy pattern by drawing around washi tape and cutting it out.
He said he had fun and understands why it takes so long to make a page now, but wouldn’t be repeating the process. I love that I have this in my album, as it says more than just a photo of my little man swimming. It’s about my husband appreciating the time that I take making these ‘pretty photo albums’ and he loves the final result.
Thanks for reading!
I had a visit to my parent’s house and took little man to the discovery Centre in London for a day out. The place has a little boat, a spaceship in the garden and a tree hollow. Oliver loved it and it was great for me as I knew he couldn’t escape and run around playing. They had a Dr Seuss exhibit which was just the most fun, we had a reading of an abridged version of ‘all the places you will go’ at our wedding so its become a fun part of our lives
I used a few pieces from Shimelle, Amy Tangerine and Dear Lizzy for this page. My favourite colour combinations is pink, navy and mustard!
I made the title using my new Silhouette Cameo – I’m surprised how much better it works than my old portrait and regret getting one earlier! The hexagons are from a pink paisley set which I covered in Heidi swapp glitter to make them sparkly 🙂
Stickers and the die cuts come from Shimelle and added little heart enamel dots. I got the sketch from somewhere but can’t remember where!
I really need to improve my handwriting! Thanks for reading 🙂
