White on White Layout

Hello,

Today I’m bringing you a layout I made for this months challenge over on the UK Scrapaddicts Blog which is a layout with a photo (or I guess photos) of 6×8 or larger.

My photo is our first holiday away with our son who was around 21 months at the time to Iceland. Which I would very much recommend to anyone. It’s a beautiful country and really set up for the under 5’s and he had a blast!

The was taken at the Skagofoss waterfall on our way to the glacial lagoon. We went at the end of October and most of the day it was snowing except for the 30 minutes we were here where the sun was shining and got this beautiful rainbow in front of the waterfall. Of course we had to stick my son in front of it, this was literally the only time he would let us put him down!

I’ve been really enjoying the recent white on white style of layouts – using texture rather than colour. I tend to like a lot of busy patterns and colours so keeping it simple was quite hard for me. The photo was was quite dark and using the plain colours really made my son stand out in the photo.

I cut out a few sizes of flowers from my silhouette onto white card and added some sequins, gems and punched flowers to create 2 clusters of embellishments on the diagonal. I had a very limited amount of white letters so ended up with the title of unique view. I usually include space for journalling but I know the other side of the 12×12 page will be a pocket page for photos and journalling and thought it looked better without,

Hope you like my layout and have fun with this months challenge 🙂

  1. Thankyou! Me too! We were just in the right place at the right time. It was quite daunting in a weird way as I tend to love a bit of colour but I will be trying it again!
